George Bowser and Rick Blue have been writing and performing music and comedy together since 1978. They are regulars on CBC Radio and the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. They have also written and performed in many theatre shows. Colorectal Surgeons around the world are familiar with them through the song "Working Where The Sun Don't Shine".
Bob Breen has been playing in local bands since the age of 13. He is the Career Management Instructor and Industry Liaison at the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology in London. Bob worked as an engineer and studio manager at TEC Awards Nominated Ocean Studios in Burbank California from 1998 -2004 where he worked on sessions with serveral Grammy nominees and winners. Bob recently finished a 24 track analog studio in London where he continues to work as an engineer and producer. He is excited to return to the Canterbury Folk Festival, where he can see his mom's front porch from the stage.
A guitarist and folk singer, Bruce began playing at the age of nine when he received his first guitar. Bruce graduated from Ridgetown Agricultural College, and then backpacked across Europe playing and singing for room and board. In the mid 1970's Bruce and three friends formed the Back 40 Bluegrass Festival.
Diane grew up in Thamesford, Ontario where her Mom had the music on before she woke up. Summer trips to see family in Nova Scotia were always celebrated with at least 2 house parties where everyone sang and played guitar. Diane lives in Mount Elgin with her husband Brian and 2 awesome daughters, Breanne and Ashley. She works as a sign painter.
Doug Turvey is the Official Town Crier for both the Town of Ingersoll and the Township of Zorra. Doug is a former past-president of the Ontario Guild of Town Criers and has hosted many competitions in Embro and Ingersoll. He proudly represents the two communities at various events across North America, placing 11th at the World Competition in Washington State.
Gord started playing fiddle at age 8. He walked 2 1/2 miles down the road every Saturday to a local teacher in Ailsa Craig, and he’s been playing ever since. With Joyce as accompaniment, the two have played in many fiddle contests for a number of years. Gord has been the Ontario Champion 3 times, and won or placed in many others. Over the last few years, Gord has played in many country bands and is now a fiddler with the group ‘Still Kickin’. As a duo, Gord and Joyce have played concerts, shows, etc. Gord is pleased to share his fiddling style with beginners and enjoys coaching a number of adults and kids.

Graham Wardrop was unknown in Canada when he played at Canterbury two years ago with Valdy. The audience quickly understood why he is considered the best steel string guitarist in New Zealand. The clear, crisp notes that build layer upon layer left Canadians wanting more. Graham was recently inducted into the New Zealand Rock Hall of Fame. A native of Christchurch, Graham is thrilled to return to Canada as a solo performer.
Hearts of Praise bring to their listeners a blend of Contemporary Gospel Music with harmonies, guitars, bass, and keyboard. For the past 13 years this hard working Gospel group shares strong vocals, and lyrics that touch the soul in a variety of churches and fundraising events across South Western Ontario. They have performed with the Southern Gospel Group "the Torchmen" and St. Paul's Anglican Catherdral in London for the Evangelism Conference. They pray that the message they share brings Hope and Peace to their audience.

Ian performs material from a large repertoire that includes both Canadian traditional music and his own songs and instrumental compositions. Ian is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist (guitar, button accordion, mandolin, harmonica, fiddle, pipes). Ian has been a CBC Radio regular and has contributed to numerous film scores and performed period music and occasionally appeared in The Road to Avonlea.

The Ingersoll Pipe Band was formed in 1910 by 3 Scottish immigrants. The band has only had 5 leaders during this time and is now under the leadership of Major Jack Habkirk. The band participates in many parades, community events and competitions. One of their regular performances is at the Indianapolis 500 race and parade. They have also played in many parts of Canada, the US and Taiwan.
Isobelle Gunn is an internationally acclaimed aqcoustic vocal trio based in London. They began singing together in 2006 and have released several albums. The band takes their name for a historic Scottish-Canadian woman who immigrated to Canada at the turn of the 18th century and disguised herself as a man in order to work in a man's world. Singing from different voices and perspectives, the band members present themselves as diverse narrators in their songs. They sing through the lenses of hope and redemption. Come join them and experience their "sweet light harmony" and "meaningful lyrics" as they take you on an emotional and spiritual journey through their live show.
She's bizarre, but she's Candian cute. JEnn is an acoustic singer/song writer from Woodstock and she's the real deal. JEnn thrives on her live performances and keeps the audiences coming back for more of her expressive and unique voice that charges her music with liveliness that makes you want to sing along. For JEnn, the beauty of writing music is just being there to watch it happen. JEnn plays festivals and concerts around Ontario and has had the pleasure of opening for Ron Sexsmith.

Jimmy Lee was born into a musically talented family in Texas. He grew up singing and playing the drums in church and school. Jimmy Lee has called Newfoundland his home for a number of years. He has numerous gospel awards including Music Newfoundland's award for gospel-artist of the year and nominations for the East Coast Music Awards. His musical ministry takes him throughout Eastern Canada and Ontario and New York State. Jimmy Lee can often be found sharing his talents with a variety of charities. Ingersoll born Ken Archer started playing in a band in 1968 at Teen Town on Friday nights. He played across the country several times in the 80's and 90's and has played extensively in the northern and eastern Ontario circuit Ken has opened for groups such as the Good Brothers and Prairie Oyster. He has shared the stage with Charlie Daniels, Billy Ray Cyrus, Bobby Curtola and Freddie Fender to name just a few.
Lou Anne is a children's storyteller and holds young and old captive when she is on stage. She has been involved at the Canterbury Folk Festival from the very geginning. Lou Anne is a former Ingersoll resident and a librarian by trade. She loves to spin her yarns and tell traditional children's stories.

Maigan is best known for her ability to dance and play the fiddle at the same time. She has numerous trophies, plaques and medals in both fiddle and step dance. Maigan has been fortunate to have performed with famous names such as Amy Sky, Natalie MacMaster and conduct a stepdance workshop for The Pierre Schryer Band. Maigan teaches at the Woodstock Cooperative Dance School in Woodstock. She and her students support many charitable functions in Oxford County.

Paul's growling voice of a blues musician and mastery of the guitar have made him a Canterbury favourite over the years. Paul has been a regular with Orchestra London in their Jeans & Classics series and plays to sold out audiences as a headliner. Middle Eastern dancing is the celebration of life and the feminine experience. There are many different versions and it is often referred to as "belly dancing" because of the abdominal control required. The roots of this type of dance can be traced back 6000 years. In recent years, western women have discovered belly dancing to be a very self-affirming art form. The Rakshanda Dancers are from Ingersoll.
Sarajayne is delighted to return to her home town folk festival. The past two years have been full of amazing opportunities for this Canadian Step Dance Champion. Sharing her dance with children in Africa and performing in Branson Missouri with a group called Canadian Powerhouse sharing the stage with Shane Cook, Stephanie Cadmen and other awesome step and fiddle friends has been such an honour. Sarajayne is a nursing student at Humber College. You can check out her stepping on youtube under both her name and "Canadian Powerhouse".
An energetic group of musicians who play folk roots music with a flair for Celtic traditions and a passion for performing original tunes. They are Bob Cunningham, originally from England, who has made his home in Canada for many years and plays guitar, long neck mandolin and Irish bouzouki; Barry Nunn, a guitar, and bass player with a keen sense of vocal harmony.

Newfoundland born Singer/Songwriter and Poet, E. S. Doyle, says of his new book of poetry Stitches in Time, "It's a book about awareness, and really noticing what's going on around you. Then the feelings that it congers up"." I had been performing musically for fourteen years and then I felt the draw back to poetry. It was what got me started as a songwriting in the first place." He is excited to recite some of his poems and perform some of the new songs from his forthcoming CD at Canterbury this year.
Tiffany has been dancing for 19 years and teaching and choreographic for over 11. At the age of 15 she was a Canadian Step Dance Champion and also a Principal Dancer in the Mirvish Production of Needfire in Toronto. Tiffany loves coming to the Canterbury Folk Festival so her students can perform in a relaxed environment.

Ted is Ingersoll born and raised. He has been singing and entertaining as long as he can remember. For the past few years he has been performing solo, singing and playing acoustic guitar, He has two CD's, one of his father's favourite east coast and Irish ballads, and the second is a collection of his own writings. His song "Red Petaled Flower" made its way to CBC Radio. Despite his very busy schedule as Mayor of Ingersoll, Ted continues to help the community out in any way he can through his music
Jim Gonder is a retired teacher who plays bango and keyboard in the Ingersoll area with several bands. Jim and Ted are long-time friends and often share the stage at community events.

Whitewater Bluegrass Band has been performing for over fifteen years at festivals and musical events. Based in the Mitchell area, this dynamic band is appealing to all ages. The group uses fiddle, guitar, banjo, base and mandolin to create their high energy sound. Whitewater Bluegrass manages to successfully straddle both the bluegrass and folk genres.
Michael is 15 years old, and has been playing the guitar for two years. He started singing at the age of 9 when he performed in his first school play. He has sang with the Ingersoll Choral Society, and has performed at the western fair youth talent for the last 4 years. He thoroughly enjoys performing and hopes to make a career with his guitar.
Phil Arnold is the driving force behind Puppetworks. Founded in 1999, this puppet company has been experimenting and performing with puppets for over a decade. In addition to performances for adults and children, Puppetworks delivers workshops to elementary students in the Southwestern Ontario region. An actor and director for over thirty years, Phil started working with puppets while he was the owner/producer of the Old Factory Theatre in London (1998-2003). When the Old Factory closed in 2003, Phil started this new chapter of his life as a full-time puppeteer. "Puppetry is a near perfect and inclusive art form." A puppeteer often works in isolation but the trade-off for this lonely existence is the management of the artistic process from concept through script development to performance. Phil has been the President of the Ontario Puppetry Association since 2003. He performs in Canada and the USA and has been a regular performer at "Puppets Up!" Canada's largest international puppetry festival staged in Almonte, ON every August.
